History Background

According to the Huainanzi, "Among the gods, none are more esteemed than the Azure Dragon." Associated with the element of wood, the Azure Dragon represents the east, spring, vitality, and benevolence. In Yin-Yang and Five Elements theory, the east corresponds to wood and is symbolized by green, giving the Azure Dragon its name. Its form is made up of seven stars from the eastern section of the twenty-eight lunar mansions, resembling a dragon with horns and scales.
